Mexico Mission Trip
Join Life in the City FOR a 4-day mission trip to the Mexican border!
Wednesday, May 24 - Sunday May 28
INFO: We are going to serve the Nuevo Progreso community through the "Manos Juntas" organization, a Mexican Methodist organization that was founded in 1991. Specifically, Life in the City is going to work on a building project for their new "House of Hope", an orphanage for children and youth. The past drug cartel wars left thousands of children as orphans and the government resources for these children are stretched too thinly. House of Hope will eventually house and care for 100 kids who are in desperate need of the love of Christ. Click on this link to see a brochure for Manos Juntas and some of its programs.
LODGING: We will be staying in their dormitory facility in Rio Bravo, which is just 20 minutes to the border near Laredo. Click on this linkto see pictures and read more information about the Larry Action Retreat Center, the building where we will be staying. In Manos Juntas' 25 years of ministry, there has not once been a problem or safety incident with any of its mission teams.
COST: $150 includes room, board, transportation, and all administrative costs. Personal fundraising opportunities are currently being brainstormed. As a church we will be raising $5,150 to pay for the materials and site preparation of our construction project.
INFORMATION SESSION: We will have a brief meeting March 26 after worship.
REGISTER: We hope at least 20 people will represent Life in the City, but there is room for more! Secure your spot with a $50 deposit. You will need a valid passport in May with at least 6 months until the expiration date.
